Senior Marketing Manager, EU Affiliates

Amazon is growing rapidly across Europe, and is currently seeking a leader for its European affiliate marketing program, Amazon Associates. Amazon launched one of the first ever online affiliate programs, and to this day, Amazon remains committed to innovating within the affiliate marketing space, as witnessed by recent launches such as “Share on Twitter” and our well publicized Blogger integration. The Senior Marketing Manager, Amazon Associates EU role is based in Luxembourg, manages a pan-European team and reports to the European Marketing Director.

 

Role Responsibilities:

As the Senior Marketing Manager, Amazon Associates, your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Set vision, strategy and goals for the EU Amazon Associates program, including programs in France, Germany and UK.
  • Work closely on worldwide affiliate program initiatives with teams based in North America and Asia, and with technical teams responsible for supporting new affiliate program initiatives and new category launches.
  • Drive initiatives to increase revenue generation among existing affiliates, and pioneer the development of new programs and channels.
  • Analyze and improve ongoing business results, report on results to senior management and communicate closely with various internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the recruitment of large, pan-European partners, and work closely with team to drive ongoing recruitment efforts.
  • Discover and implement initiatives to improve the efficiency of the program, and to continually improve the customer experience for our affiliate partners.
  • Lead, grow and develop a high-performance, cross-functional pan-European team including business development, product management, marketing and customer services across 4 locales – Luxembourg, London, Paris and Munich.
  • Relentlessly innovate to provide the best possible experience for our associates and to maintain the program’s excellent reputation.

 

Qualifications/Experience

  • 7+ years experience in customer acquisition and performance marketing (affiliates, SEM, banner advertising, email, white mail, etc)  very likely in an online marketing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Familiarity with the Affiliate Marketing ecosystem; deep knowledge of the affiliate landscape, key players, business models, technologies, and drivers of success
  • English language skills required; French or German language skills a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; facility presenting information to and responding to questions from senior management and peers
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; passion for metrics and quantitative analysis, and ability to turn analysis into actionable programs
  • Strong negotiation skills; demonstrated success in negotiating and closing high-profile marketing relationships with major industry players
  • Excellent business judgment; the ability to generate ideas and solve problems independently, in a manner consistent with the team’s vision and goals
  • Proven ability to build and lead a data driven performance marketing organization; experience helping team members establish and achieve aggressive business and operational targets
  • Technical comfort; ability to understand key technical issues, understanding their implications for your business, and discussing alternative technical solutions
